Mobile app development

We build mobile applications for iOS and Android: Figma design, app code, backend APIs, admin panels, and App Store and Google Play publishing.

Mobile app development from concept to launch

Mobile app development makes sense when you need a direct, convenient channel to reach your customers or employees. A mobile application opens quickly from the home screen, taps into smartphone hardware features, and delivers push notifications.

We design user interfaces, write the code, set up databases and APIs, and prepare technical documentation and privacy info required for App Store and Google Play reviews.

Every project is built from scratch around your specific business logic. The work is done directly by our two-person team: a designer and a developer. You communicate directly with the people doing the work—no project managers or account executives in between.

When to build a mobile app

Not every business needs a dedicated mobile app. If your customers only need your service once a year, a responsive website or progressive web app (PWA) is usually sufficient. Web solutions cost less to maintain and do not require review processes in application stores.

Developing a dedicated mobile application makes sense when you need regular user engagement or specific device functionality.

Daily or weekly use

Loyalty programs, order management, client accounts, and messaging channels that your customers open frequently.

Hardware integration

Access to the device camera, background location services, Bluetooth devices, or the local file system.

Push notifications

A direct way to inform users about updates, order status changes, or reminders right on their screen.

In-app purchases

Selling subscriptions and digital services using native Apple and Google billing systems.

Cross-platform or native code

There are two ways to build an app for iOS and Android. Cross-platform frameworks let you build one app for both platforms from a single codebase. Native development with Swift and Kotlin means two separate apps.

A single codebase usually requires fewer resources to build and maintain, while native development makes sense when a project needs very specific access to device features. We choose the approach together during planning, based on features, budget, and long-term maintenance.

Backend, APIs, and admin panels

The interface on a smartphone screen is only one part of the solution. Business logic, data storage, user authentication, and security run on the server. We design custom database structures and APIs using Firebase or custom backend architectures.

To manage content, user accounts, and notifications, we build web-based admin panels. If your workflow requires complex management tools, we can build a dedicated web application.

App Store and Google Play publishing

App Store and Google Play publishing requires meeting Apple and Google guidelines. We prepare app store descriptions, screenshots, privacy declarations, and data usage forms. Apple and Google review each submission and may request changes, so we account for review timelines in our plan.

Developer accounts (Apple Developer Program and Google Play Console) are registered under your company's name. You retain full ownership of the app and store listings, while we handle setup, build preparation, and submission.

Featured project: AstroMatch

AstroMatch is an astrological compatibility application built for our client JJ Risinājumi. For this project we chose cross-platform development: one codebase for iOS and Android, and the app is available in three languages.

Astrological charts are calculated on the server using Firebase Cloud Functions. Key features include:

  • Server-side chart calculations based on date, time, and birth location
  • Compatibility analysis across 8 distinct life areas
  • Mutual connection request system before initiating chat
  • Real-time chat with delivery statuses, message reactions, and push notifications
  • AI-generated insights and in-app purchases
  • Dedicated web admin panel for managing content and users

App maintenance after launch

Mobile operating systems are updated annually, and store policy rules change regularly. After release, we test your application on new iOS and Android versions and apply necessary updates.

We can host your backend on KVANTS infrastructure with 24/7 monitoring and automatic backups on a separate server. If an issue arises, we provide fast technical support.

Why choose us?

Full cycle

Development, design, hosting, email, maintenance — all in one place. No need to coordinate multiple vendors.

Own infrastructure

Client projects run on our servers with 24/7 monitoring. We catch issues before your visitors do.

Clear pricing

A development plan before work starts and a fixed project price. No upfront payment for small jobs.

Direct contact

You talk directly to the developer, not a project manager. Faster decisions, fewer misunderstandings.

How we work

1

Consultation and requirements

We discuss your planned features, business goals, and a suitable tech stack.

2

Project plan and estimate

Within one business day, we deliver a written plan detailing project phases, timeline, and scope.

3

Design and prototyping

We design all app screens in Figma and refine user interface interactions.

4

Development and testing

We build the mobile app and backend code, conducting continuous checks on physical hardware.

5

Publishing and support

We submit your app to store review processes and provide ongoing post-launch maintenance.

Frequently asked questions

Will one app work on both iPhone and Android devices?

Yes. With a cross-platform framework, we write a single codebase that targets both platforms. The functionality is the same on both, and development usually takes less time than two separate native builds. We pick the approach during planning.

How long does mobile app development take?

Timelines depend on overall scope, screen count, and required third-party integrations. After our initial discussion, we provide a clear schedule. Teams often start with a core launch version (MVP) and expand functionality over time.

Who owns the developer accounts in the stores?

Developer accounts are registered directly in your company's or individual name. You keep ownership of the application and can grant access to developers as needed. We guide you through registration and upload all assets.

Can I edit content and manage users on my own?

Yes. Alongside the mobile app, we build a browser-based admin panel. From there, you can view registered users, update texts, add products, and send push notifications.

Do I need a mobile app, or is a website enough?

If customers interact with your business infrequently, a responsive website or progressive web app is often the better choice. An app makes sense when you need push notifications, offline support, or direct access to camera and location hardware.

Who owns the source code once the project is finished?

You own full rights to the source code upon project completion and final payment. We maintain version control on our Git infrastructure and transfer complete access to your repository.

What happens after the app is published?

We provide technical support, adapt your app to annual iOS and Android operating system updates, and manage backend hosting. New features can be developed in planned stages.
