What shipping integration is
If you have to open every order, copy the address into a carrier's portal and print the label separately, shipping integration can save a lot of time. It connects your e-shop to the carriers' systems, so order data reaches the courier or parcel locker without retyping.
For the customer it looks simple: they pick the most convenient parcel locker at checkout, pay and receive an email with a tracking link. For you it means fewer address errors, fewer questions like «where is my parcel?» and a clear route from order to shipment.

Why shipping affects sales
Before paying, customers look closely at delivery options. If they cannot choose a familiar parcel locker, or the shipping cost is unclear until the last step, some of them simply abandon the cart.
On your side, shipping can also become a daily burden. Manual work takes time, and every retyped address is a chance for a mistake. Automation makes this stage predictable.
Omniva, DPD, Venipak and others
Latvian e-shops most often use several parcel locker networks. When choosing delivery methods, it helps to know how they differ.
Omniva
Offers e-shop integrations, including a WooCommerce module that sends shipment data, creates labels, tracks parcels, calls a courier and provides the parcel locker list. Business customers can also get API access after signing a contract, and Omniva issues the access credentials.
DPD
Parcel lockers called DPD Pickup, and courier delivery. For integration we use the API or ready-made modules, depending on your platform.
Venipak
Parcel lockers and pickup points, for example in shops and petrol stations. Here too, the connection is made through the API or a ready-made module.
Smartposti
Formerly Itella SmartPOST. Smartposti states that it is the only network of indoor parcel lockers in Latvia suitable for temperature-sensitive goods, such as cosmetics, electronics or medicines.
Latvijas Pasts and Unisend
Latvijas Pasts has its own parcel lockers and post offices. Together with Unisend, it lets you send to Unisend parcel lockers in Lithuania and Estonia.
Parcel locker selection at checkout
Parcel locker selection is what the customer sees most clearly. We build it so that choosing is quick and clear on a phone too.

Labels, tracking and statuses
Once an order is confirmed, the shipment can be registered in the carrier's system automatically, and a PDF label is ready to print. If you have many orders in a day, shipping labels can be printed in one go, and where the carrier supports it, you can also prepare a shipment manifest and call a courier.
Parcel tracking becomes simple for the customer: the tracking number and link arrive by email without any action from you. Statuses return from the carrier to the order, so you can see what has been sent, what is on its way and what has been received. If the carrier supports returns, we can connect that flow too.
If a carrier's API is down for a while, the system notifies you, so orders do not go unnoticed.
Shipping rates and rules
Shipping rates in the e-shop can be calculated automatically according to your rules. The actual tariffs are set by your contract with the carrier, but we set up the logic.

- hiding unsuitable methods, for example oversized goods are not offered for parcel lockers
Module or API integration
Most carriers offer an API or ready-made modules for popular platforms. If you have a WooCommerce shop, an existing module is often enough, and we adapt it to your needs. If the shop is custom-built, we build the integration through the API.
The second question is contracts. You can sign your own contract with each carrier or use an intermediary. For example, the MakeCommerce module can manage Omniva, DPD, Venipak, Unisend and Smartposti shipments, labels and tracking in one place, while the Shipping+ service lets you send with Omniva and DPD in Estonia and Latvia without separate contracts with each carrier.

Frequently asked questions
Which carriers should I offer in my shop?
It depends on your customers and products. Many shops do well with one or two parcel locker networks and a courier. In our conversation we will work out together what suits your range.
Do I need a contract with every carrier?
Usually yes, if you connect to each one separately. An alternative is an intermediary, such as MakeCommerce Shipping+, which lets you send with Omniva and DPD without separate contracts.
Can I print labels for 50 orders at once?
Yes, we can set up bulk printing, and labels are prepared as PDFs. Exact options may differ by carrier.
Will the customer get the tracking link automatically?
Yes. Once the shipment is registered, the tracking number and link are added to the email sent to the customer.
Does it work with WooCommerce or a custom shop?
Both. For a WooCommerce shop we often use ready-made modules, and for a custom-built shop we build the integration through the carrier's API.
Can the shipping price depend on weight?
Yes. The price can be set by weight, size, cart total or country, and you can set a free shipping threshold.
What about shipping abroad?
It depends on the carrier and your contract. We set up what your contract allows. For example, Latvijas Pasts together with Unisend sends to Unisend parcel lockers in Lithuania and Estonia.
What if a parcel locker disappears from the list?
Lists update automatically, so a removed locker is no longer offered for new orders. If the integration cannot update the data, you receive a notification.
